Dantsoho at UNGA: Driving Nigeria’s Port System into the Future

The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, has said the authority is working to build a globally competitive port system that will enhance trade facilitation, attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and boost investor confidence in Nigeria’s economic future.

Dantsoho disclosed this while delivering a paper titled, “Optimising Nigeria’s Port Infrastructure, Enhancing Trade Facilitation and Global Competitiveness,” at the ongoing United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Dantsoho disclosed to the global audience that the authority would launch the Port Community System (PCS) by the first quarter of 2026.

According to him, “We are building a globally competitive port system that will strengthen trade facilitation, attract Foreign Direct Investment, and boost investor confidence in Nigeria’s economic future. We look forward to continued collaboration to achieve these goals.

“NPA is also implementing a digital, collaborative, and all-encompassing platform connecting stakeholders, data, transactions, and initiatives to improve NPA’s digital footprint. This platform (Port Community System) was seen as viable in the first quarter of 2026.”

The NPA boss further stated that all the nation’s seaports’ digital platforms allowed for paperless transactions, which minimises waste.

He stated that the nation’s seaports efficiency have contributed to a 19.6% growth in non-oil exports in the first half of 2025.

“The NPA is using smart digitalisation to achieve lean and green operations. We’ve deployed a new electronic barrier system at all Lagos Port Complex terminals to improve traffic and control access. This system is integrated with the “Eto Electronic Call-Up System’ (a call-up truck system developed in collaboration with several truck parks) manages truck entry and eases congestion.”

“We are optimising cargo processes by introducing e-Tag verification, Joint boarding apps, electronic send systems, and others to reduce cargo dwell time and turnaround time in our ports. Our digital platforms allow for paperless transactions, which minimise waste.

“The NPA is infusing sustainability into its operations to boost efficiency and long-term viability. We are improving intermodal connectivity to reduce reliance on road transport and lower emissions. We are currently working on automating our Barge, Truck, and Railway applications,” he disclosed.

Speaking on reducing emission, the NPA helmsman, said the authority is spearheading the shore-to-ship emission reduction, starting with the Lekki Port.

“We are improving intermodal connectivity to reduce reliance on road transport and lower emissions. We are currently working on automating our Barge, Truck, and Railway applications.

“The Authority is spearheading the shore-to-ship emission reduction, starting with the Lekki Port. NPA is spearheading the collaborative one-stop shop (OSS) ref hed oil export/local crude payment to enhance seamless approvals and revenue generation for the government,” he added.

He stated further that the authority is dedicated to modernising the nation’s seaport infrastructure and streamlining their services.

“This multi-purpose port in the Lekki Free Zone is a key collaboration between the NPA and other partners. The port’s capability to handle super post-Panamax vessels is essential for achieving economies of scale and enhancing the competitiveness of Nigerian exports.

“We have commissioned and dedicated a state-of-the-art fleet of tug boats and allied Marine Crafts to service the ever growing operations at the Lekki Deep Seaport, the Dangote Refinery, which is the largest single-train refinery in the world and the Dangote Fertilizer Plant, which is the largest granulated urea fertiliser plant in Africa.”

Nigeria, Our Reality and Our Responsibility-Faduri Oluwadare Joseph aka Fadojoe

Nigeria, Our Reality and Our Responsibility
-Faduri Oluwadare Joseph aka Fadojoe

I laughed when I read on social media how Nigerian youths wished for the kind of resistance seen in Nepal to also happen here. But what many forget is that the youths and people of Nepal are not as delusional, greedy, and shortsighted as many Nigerians have become today.

We are led by leaders who understand one bitter truth: every Nigerian has a price.
When voices rise against injustice, those in power quickly identify the leaders of such movements, lure them with money, divide the group with weaklings among them, and the struggle dies a natural death. That is why what happened in Nepal can hardly happen in Nigeria. Too many Nigerians cannot resist a little temptation of money or power—greed, corruption, and shortsightedness continue to enslave us.

Let us be honest: the leaders we have today are a reflection of who we are as a people. These leaders did not fall from the sky; they came from among us. We keep shouting about bad leaders, yet we hail them when we see them. We want a good country, but when we visit politicians, we beg for money instead of demanding accountability. Some even go as far as “handing the nation over to God” in prayers, but refuse to participate in elections or in choosing the right leaders.

Until we look inward—until we overcome our greed, our poverty-driven mindset, and the corrupt mentality that politicians exploit to buy our votes and our conscience for as little as ₦5,000—we will not have the country we dream of. What we have now is a jungle, where survival is like hell in a cell, and the most powerful take it all.

An average Nigerian wants a good nation, but is not ready to sacrifice even a little comfort or greed to achieve it. But we cannot have it both ways. We must decide: what kind of nation do we truly want, and what sacrifices are we willing to make to build it?

Nigeria must be ready to endure the pain of forcing a generational shift of leadership—from the same old recycled politicians to a new political breed committed to rescuing our nation from this mess. I, Faduri Oluwadare Joseph (Fadojoe), a former Presidential Aspirant under the Labour Party, represent such a leadership change. I often describe Nigeria as “A nation that has everything, but lacks everything.”

We have all it takes to be one of the greatest nations on Earth, yet today we are the laughingstock of the world—in politics, governance, sports, medicine, and virtually every field of leadership. These leaders have failed us. Now, it is the people of Nigeria who must design their own rescue—not necessarily through protests or violence, but through the most powerful tool left in our hands: the power of our vote.

Until we realize how powerful our voting power is, Nigeria will remain where it is. But I still believe: someday, we will rise again and take our rightful place in the world.

I remain Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, a leader committed to seeing Nigeria rescued and rebuilt—a New Nigeria where:

Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, and all ethnic groups will unite to build a nation, not run a jungle.

Leaders will serve national interest, not personal pockets.

Citizens will believe in building, not cheating one another to survive.

Youths will be industrious and useful, not idle and wasted.

Women will be respected, not objectified.

Children will grow up hopeful that their dreams can come true within their own country.

I believe in a Nigeria of our dreams. The quest to build it starts now—with you and me.

May God bless Nigeria, and may God bless you and I.

Betrayal in Broad Daylight: KD’s Commissioner’s Premature Political Gambit Threatens Uba Sani’s Unity Agenda in Lere West

Betrayal in Broad Daylight: KD’s Commissioner’s Premature Political Gambit Threatens Uba Sani’s Unity Agenda in Lere West

By Aliyu Umar

‎In a move that has sent shockwaves through the political landscape of Kaduna State, the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Abubakar Buba, has been accused of prematurely endorsing Salisu, an aspiring candidate for the Lere West State House of Assembly seat, during what was meant to be a non-partisan gathering focused on sober reflection.

‎The incident, captured in a widely circulated photograph showing Buba raising Salisu’s hand, has ignited fierce debate about loyalty, ethnic tensions, and the fragility of Governor Uba Sani’s administration just two years into his term.

‎The event in question was ostensibly organized to commemorate decades of neglect in Lere Local Government Area, while highlighting the tangible gains of democracy and development under Governor Uba Sani’s leadership.

‎Attendees gathered to discuss inclusive governance, infrastructure improvements, and the equitable distribution of democratic dividends—far removed from the rough-and-tumble of electoral politics. Yet, Buba’s gesture has been interpreted by many as a blatant injection of partisanship, raising eyebrows about his true intentions and allegiances.

‎Critics, including local stakeholders and political analysts, argue that Buba’s actions betray a deeper agenda to undermine the goodwill Governor Sani has painstakingly built across Kaduna’s diverse ethnic and geographic divides.

‎”This is not just unwise; it’s a calculated sabotage,” said one anonymous community leader from Lere West, speaking on condition of anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the matter.

‎”Buba has long been whispered about as a ‘snitch’—a mole loyal to former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, stitching threads of discord to unravel Uba Sani’s dreams. His loyalty to El-Rufai, who handpicked Sani as his successor, now seems to be weaponized against the very man he once supported.”

‎The controversy underscores perceived ethnic biases in Buba’s approach, with detractors pointing to his alleged disdain for non-Hausa ethnic groups, which constitute approximately 55% of Lere Local Government’s population.

‎”This hatred is a clear indicator that he’s a cankerworm within the family fabric, eating away at the unity Sani is fostering,” the source added. Lere West, a constituency plagued by years of “misplaced representation,” has long called for a leader capable of bridging divides and delivering development. Buba’s endorsement of Salisu—a figure seen by some as aligned with El-Rufai’s old guard—has fueled fears that it prioritizes factional interests over broader inclusion.

‎In an era where politics is often described as a “game of numbers” devoid of morals, Buba’s intellectual and calculative nature makes his early maneuvering all the more alarming.

‎As an appointee eyeing his own elective office in 2027, the commissioner is accused of throwing his weight behind “lesser ambitions” at a time when demands for moderate political inclusion in the area are at their peak.

‎”There’s absolutely nothing to think about a mere picture or the message it sends,” one observer noted wryly. “But politics can explode when overstretched. Isn’t it too early, especially now?”

‎Defenders of Buba, however, paint a different picture, suggesting he was “boxed into a corner” by Salisu’s supporters and the aspirant himself during the event.

‎They describe the gesture as mere “parallel politics”—a harmless nod allowed in the fluid world of Nigerian campaigning. “Be rest assured that Mr. Commissioner can clearly distinguish who is best, with the capacity to represent Lere West after a decade of neglect,” one supporter argued. “A picture speaks, but this speaks way less.”

‎Yet, the incident serves as a stark warning to Governor Uba Sani: Enemies within are often more dangerous than those outside. Political observers urge the governor to act swiftly in identifying and addressing such internal threats to safeguard his vision of good governance.

‎”All we are asking is for someone with the capacity to develop Kaduna State and bring the dividends of democracy to the people of Lere West,” the anonymous leader concluded. “Uba must carry everyone on board for his boat of good governance to paddle us to safer grounds.”

‎As Kaduna continues to bask in the environmental accolades under Buba’s ministry—including plans to plant 10 million trees and recent rankings as the cleanest state in the North-West—the political undercurrents threaten to tarnish these achievements. Will Governor Sani address this rift, or will it fester into a larger crisis ahead of 2027? For now, the photograph stands as a symbol of division in a state striving for unity.

Northern Islamic Clerics Pray for Wike, Commend His Giant Strides in Abuja

Allege Sickness: Northern Islamic Clerics Pray for Wike, Commend His Giant Strides in Abuja

A group of Islamic clerics in Northern Islamic Cleric have offered special prayers for the speedy recovery of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, following reports alleging that he has been battling with ill health.

The clerics, under the umbrella of the Council of Concerned Northern Ulamas, who converged on Kaduna for special prayers for the nation, ,extolled Wike’s leadership qualities and “giant developmental strides” since assuming office as FCT Minister.

Speaking after the prayer session, Sheikh Musa Abdullahi, one of the leading clerics, described Wike as “a pragmatic leader who has redefined governance in Abuja through infrastructure renewal, security enhancement, and people-oriented policies.”

He noted that although the minister has faced political attacks and rumours concerning his health, Nigerians should instead focus on supporting him to succeed in his national assignment.

“Our prayer is for Allah to grant him sound health, protection, and wisdom to continue serving the country. Wike has shown uncommon courage in transforming Abuja, and such a leader deserves encouragement, not false speculations,” Sheikh Abdullahi said.

The clerics also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting Wike with the FCT portfolio, stressing that the ongoing reforms and visible projects in the capital city are “clear evidence of the renewed hope agenda at work.”

They urged Nigerians to shun divisive politics and join hands in prayers for leaders, insisting that national unity and development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and goodwill.

INSECURITY IN KATSINA: MAHADI JUST SEEKING UNNECESSARY RELEVANCE

INSECURITY IN KATSINA: MAHADI JUST SEEKING UNNECESSARY RELEVANCE

By Comrade Musa Mohammed

‘Mahadi Shehu: Bad, Cheat, Liar, Cruel, No Responsibility Man He Is’.

The popular social media personality, Malam Mahadi Shehu, a Kaduna based quasi-blowing lier had, on Sunday made strong allegations, that, the former SSG of Katsina state Dr. Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa is responsible for the insecurity in Katsina state, which are Malicious, Falsehood, Mischievous and blackmail.

I have to call him to order, for his misleading statements and attempt several times to destabilize the peace and political stability of Katsina State.

Mahadi is only playing politics with security of lives of Katsina people without contributing anything to end the challenges.

He is just seeking unnecessary relevance.

We are going to display and expose MAHADI fraudulent character and l made it a duty to respond to these reckless allegations with the view to among other reasons, let the world know the character of MAHADI SHEHU and why he cannot be taken seriously.

It is irresponsible and cheap blackmail for Mahadi Shehu to state that, Dr. Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa is responsible for the insecurity in Katsina state.

Mahadi false Allegations is to underscore the commitment of the past and present Governors towards ending insecurity and criminality in Katsina State as against what he alleged.

There is no record anywhere to indicate the contributions of the whistle blowing lier towards addressing the problem. What is in public domain is the blackmailer noise making to seek undue relevance and hypocritical display of fake loyalty to governor Dikko Radda.

Mahadi Shehu should not be taken seriously because the allegations he raised are baseless, mischievous and unfounded.

Instead of Mahadi Shehu to look for ways to assist the state government, he is busy making noise and seeking undue relevance.

The question one should ask is, what is the contribution of Mahadi Shehu towards solving the insecurity problems in Katsina State if he claims to be concerned citizen.

Before anyone attempts to distort his words, let them remember this: “Those who rise by merit stand taller than those who climb by patronage. Gratitude is the debt of honor, not the currency of propaganda.”

It is important to stress that attempts to create confusion or cause destruction for personal ambition contradict the teachings of the Qur’an.

Mahadi Shehu is a coward and greedy man, whom the public are accusing of being liar, he is outright deemed pathetic.

Malam Mahadi, is a Bad, cheat, liar, cruel, no responsibility man he is.
He’s nothing but a an unwillingness to accept responsibility

So, you didn’t get it right, It is not correct, it is not truthful, and we need to just dismiss it with a pinch of salt.
Your Allegations are all Injurious, Malicious and Falsehood.

What you stated are mala fide (in bad faith), you talked blindly, recklessly, using deformation character without regard to the truth or falsehood.
And i regard your statement as misrepresentation of facts causes or threatens actual damage to DR. MUSTAPHA INUWA.

You should know that Injurious falsehood, is an attack on a person’s character which
goes beyond the scope of defamation.

It is false’ all the allegation against Mustapha Inuwa, a man who has dedicated himself to serve and served diligently, meritoriously, honestly, should be honoured, and should be respected.

Mahadi you should always deal in evidence, not impulse. In facts, not feelings.

You make a statement on social media blindly, and recklessly and ‘ill-timed statement’ about a highly regarded personal.

All allegations, are ill motive, No documentation, No direct quote, No credible confirmation.
Your Allegations are personal, unverifiable claims about Mustapha Inuwa which you already buried under the very lies you refused to verify.

I will like to appeal to the public to disregard these allegations, which is an effort to blackmail Dr. Mustapha Inuwa.

Therefore, i advise MALAM MAHADI SHEHU to desist immediately from mischief and propaganda. Jumping from frying pan into fire will only consume him. Dr. Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa has surpassed your level of discussion; his focus is service, not petty squabbles.

Northern Consensus Movement Links Improved Security to Economic Growth, Backs Service Chiefs

Northern Consensus Movement Links Improved Security to Economic Growth, Backs Service Chiefs

The Nineteen Seventeen Northern Consensus Movement (NSNCM) says improved collaboration among Nigeria’s defence and security agencies under the current leadership has not only boosted national safety but is also opening doors for trade, agriculture, and community development across the country.

In a statement signed by its National President, Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu Sarkin Yakin Kanya Babba, the coalition of nearly 600 northern associations said the tenure of the current security heads – including Defence Minister Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Minister of State Bello Matawalle, National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and the service chiefs: General Christopher Musa, Lt General Olufemi Oluyede, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, and Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla – has created a more stable environment for farmers, traders, and transporters.

According to the group, new strategies by the military and paramilitary agencies have reduced piracy along Nigeria’s waterways, secured major highways for the movement of goods, and restored confidence in markets and farming communities previously disrupted by violence.

“When the roads are safe, farmers can move their produce, traders can reach markets, and investments can flow. The stability we are beginning to see is directly tied to the commitment of the present defence team,” the NSNCM noted.

The organisation commended the reactivation of strategic defence institutions such as the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON), saying its work in producing arms and equipment locally also has a spillover effect on industrial growth, job creation, and technology transfer.

Beyond military achievements, NSNCM said the renewed civil-military relations – including intelligence sharing with communities and protection of whistleblowers – is building trust and encouraging grassroots participation in security.

It warned against attempts to derail these gains through politicisation of security leadership, stressing that stability is the foundation for economic progress.

“Security is not just about soldiers and guns; it is about protecting livelihoods, enabling commerce, and giving hope to our people. The current leadership has shown vision in this regard, and Nigerians must support rather than sabotage them,” the statement read.

Reaffirming its faith in Nigeria’s development path, the movement urged citizens to see national security as an enabler of growth and unity.
