2027 Realignment: Kaduna Speaker Visits Shehu Sani

In bid to strategies and form a united front ahead of the 2027 general elections in Kaduna , the Speaker of Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Yusuf Liman has visited former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani woo him to return to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress.

According to information gathered, part of reasons for the visit was to also thank him for the support and contributions provided during the concluded Investigation of alleged looting of Kaduna State Treasury.

The Kaduna State House of Assembly did set up a 13- member fact finding committee to investigate financial transactions, loans, grants and project executions under the eight year administration of former governor Nasir El-rufai.

The adhoc committee set up by the Assembly carried out the investigations and submitted its report indicting ex-governor Elrufai and some of his appointees of siphoning N423bn State funds.

However, Senator Shehu Sani ,who was elected by the steps taken to recover the looted funds hailed the Kaduna State House of Assembly for probing former governor El-rufai’s administration from 2015-2023 with a strong voice that the people of Kaduna were appreciative of the lawmakers’ courage and determination.

The human rights activist then promised to give all the necessary support needed to recover the looted funds irrespective of whoever is involved.

In appreciation of Shehu Sani’s support and contributions during the investigation by the Assembly, the speaker visited him as measure to return the gesture.

Meanwhile, from information gathered as part of reasons for the visit was to discuss realignment and appeal for his return to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) to support Governor Uba Sami ahead with of 2027 general election.

Shehu Sani in recent appeared to have resolved the political difference with his bosom friend and Kaduna Governor, Senator Uba Sani in order to work in unity as a formidable force to develop Kaduna State .

Katsina Governor Kicks Off Public Engagement Tour, Launches 2025 Citizens Budget Participation and Community Development Programme

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has commenced a statewide public engagement tour to foster grassroots involvement in governance and development initiatives. The tour kicked off with the launch of the 2025 Citizens Budget Participation Process and the Community Development Programme (CDP) at the Tati Housing Unit, Funtua

While emphasising on the importance of community-driven development, Governor Radda stated that the Community Development Committees will serve as a bridge between the government and the grassroots, ensuring that resources are allocated fairly and projects are executed effectively.” He announced plans to present a bill to the Katsina State House of Assembly to establish these committees legally.

This significant town hall meeting is part of a series of public consultations designed to foster grassroots participation in the state’s budgetary process and ensure equitable distribution of development projects across all local governments. The event, which will continue in Daura and Katsina in the coming days, demonstrates the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-driven development.

“The Community Development Committees will act as a bridge between the government and the grassroots, enabling us to better understand and meet the needs of our people,” Governor Radda stated. “They will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting any malpractices by contractors or individuals within their localities, thereby enhancing the quality and integrity of our projects.”

Key Highlights of the Tour

The Katsina Governor announced the commencement of admissions at the Federal University of Health Sciences in Funtua in October 2024. To that effect, a visitation panel is scheduled to ensure that all necessary facilities are in place for the timely start of academic activities. Furthermore, he revealed that plans are underway to convert the Faculty of Agriculture in Malumfashi into a dedicated College of Agriculture.

In furtherance of improving healthcare delivery, Governor Radda disclosed that the state government will establish new general hospitals in Bakori and Danja Local Government Areas. “This initiative is expected to alleviate the burden on residents who currently travel long distances for medical services,” Governor Radda explained.

During the tripartite event, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasiru Muazu, provided insights into the state’s ongoing security efforts. He revealed that over thirty billion naira has been spent on security since the inception of the current administration in 2023. According to him, “These funds have been used to engage 1,462 community watch personnel and to support local governments in their security operations.”

Dr. Muazu also stressed the government’s investment in Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), arms, and communication gadgets for the security watch corps. He acknowledged the persistent security challenges, alleging the involvement of security personnel, traditional rulers, and politicians working with bandits responsible for the continued insecurity in the state.

He urged the public to cooperate with the government in exposing all those identified working for bandits, saying it’s a step to reduce the threat in the state. Dan-musa, however, reassured citizens of the government’s unwavering commitment to addressing the insecurity challenge.

In addition, the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prof. Badamasi Lawal Charanci, who now serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Social Investment Program Agency (NSIPA), disclosed that the Katsina State Government has released over 130 billion naira for project execution across the 34 local governments in the state.

He added that 86 billion of the funds was expended on payment of salaries, gratuities, and death gratuities.

“Katsina State Government in collaboration with the 34 LGAs procured adequate fertilizer worth over 13 billion naira. This is in addition to about 2 billion naira joint foreign scholarship and palliative given to orphans, vulnerable, and aged men and women,” Prof. Badamasi asserted.

Adding to the public engagement, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Bello Hussaini Kagara, informed the public on the progress of the 2024 budget and the goals for the upcoming 2025 fiscal year. He reported that the state government has achieved significant milestones in various sectors including law and order, social welfare, and infrastructure development.

He called on citizens to actively participate in the budget process and to support the government’s efforts in addressing security and development challenges.

The town hall engagement marks a new chapter in Katsina State’s approach to governance, one that is centered on citizen participation, transparency, and accountability.

Supreme Court: Okun Journalists Forum Joins Kogites To Celebrate Gov Ododo’s Victory 

 …Pledges Support To His Administration 

Okun Journalists Forum, (OJF), has congratulated the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo on Supreme court Ruling, affirming his victory as the winner of November 2023 Governorship election.

The Forum, which is the Umbrella body of practicing Journalists of Okun extraction of Kogi state origin in Kaduna state, with a mission to contribute to development and progress of their State.

In a Statement signed by its Chairman and Secretary Chief Olu Ajayi and Alhaji AbdulRaheem Aodu respectively, said, the victory of the Governor is a clear indication of his widely acceptance by the people of Kogi State.

According to the Statement, the Forum implored the Governor to see his victory at the Supreme court as victory for all, therefore called on the Governor to accept all Kogites as his subjects and deliver the dividends of democracy to all and sundry as he has already started, and to carry everyone along irrespective of party differences.

As a conglomeration of Journalists from different media outlets, the Forum therefore promised to partner with the Governor in disseminating the laudable achievement of the State Government under his administration to the entire Nation .

Shehu Sani Commends People of Gobir Communities for Heeding Call to Confront Bandits

…Says People’s Shahada Actions overdue

The former lawmaker,Senator Shehu Sani has praised the people and residents of Gobir Communities in Sokoto State,North-west Nigeria for heeding to call for People’s Shahada Actions and move into Forests to confront the so call daredevil bandits face to face.

According to the human rights activist, it’s high time the people took over the fight against banditry frontally without fear.Stressing,”No better time for People’s Shahada Actions than now.”

Shehu Sani, who has expressed anger over killing of Emir or Gobir and the incessant cases of kidnap by ravaging bandits in the northern regions, said failure on side of security agencies to tackle issues of insecurity, especially banditry compelled him to make the call for People’s Shahada Actions as the potent solution to contain the excesses of bandits.

In a post via his Facebook handle today, he averred that , “The solution to the incessant and intractable problems of the cruelty and menace of Banditry in the North West is a People’s Shahada action,which is a masses movement to fumigate and disinfect their lands,forests and farms against banditry and bandits.

“This theory is aimed at permanently freeing the people from the criminality of kidnappings and killings so that they can take back their lives,their farms and schools.

“Vigilante and security agencies can all collaborate and cooperate on this in order to achieve results.
May Allah brings peace to our dear country.”

Senator Sani had in past raised the alarm about how bandits took over the north and how they were able to establish governance structure.

His words: “Virtually now, bandits in the North West have become a state within a state.They have been able to establish governance structure in the sense that they don’t just kidnap and extort money, it has reached a point where they even install.”

He also did make frantic efforts while in the Senate to call on security agencies to make bold steps to solve problems Boko Haram and surging banditry before getting out of hands .

He equally did same, when he made a video speaking on need to rescue late Emir of Gobir before he was killed by bandits.o

However, this time the former lawmaker rather enjoined all citizens and residents across the three geo-political regions to move into Forests and dislodged all bandits.

Fadojoe advocates for former DSS DG, as he advises incoming,Tinubu 

No doubt, the measurement of a man’s tenure in office, especially in a nation like Nigeria, may not necessarily be measured by the reaction of staff. 

Yusuf Magaji Bichi served Nigeria in his capacity as the DSS DG to the best of his ability, I would think. And as his removal is a constitutional right of Mr President, we in the public domain would appreciate his service to our nation and dedication to fight corruption in the face of a nation where emotions runs high in our daily life.

Occupying such an higher office is not a joke and it comes with so many challenges that sometimes that subordinate may have no knowledge of, but in it all; his service to the people of this country would not be taking for granted. 

He served his own time with his best, and the last time i visited the DSS, no doubt I was able to have an insight look at the challenges they face every day as well. So on behalf of well meaning Nigerians, thank you for your service Yusuf Magaji Bichi.

Having said that, my advice to the incoming new DSS DG is to be cautious as it’s seen in the public domain that the staff of DSS are rejoicing over his appointment, many will come as friends only to destroy or praise so they can bend the rules in so many ways. Leaders, many at times are never seen as good, especially in a nation like ours; if people are not directly benefiting from him instead of people benefiting from government, but they see their leader as the one many at times  as the person blocking their promotion, their benefits. Therefore I will advise the new DG to exercise restraint and caution and not be carried away with staff jubilation of his appointment or jubilation over his predecessor removal, as those who did same for his ex-boss might end up doing same for him when it’s time.

Finally, as the new DG takes the oath of office, please remember your service is to Nigeria as a nation and Nigerians as people, and not to do the bidding of the political class.

The job requires providing intelligence information that would lead to protection of our country from enemy within and without, the presidency, and all government officials without also compromising when any leader acts in a way that can jeopardize the peace and security of Nigerians.

The New DG of DSS should stay out of politics and not to be used as instrument for the incumbent to go after their perceived  political enemies. The institution also know its jurisdiction not to interfere in affairs outside their organization.

Peace and security of our nation with intelligence gathering to help fight insecurity in the nation and any act that can threaten security of life and property no doubt is the major obligation of the DSS and we hope this organization will stick to that and not be used as tool for punishment by politicians on the other side of the aisle.

The President of Nigeria His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the right to remove and replace any government official at any time, as enshrined in the constitution; but in doing so, the president must always do so in fairness and in service to the nation not just as political appointment to those who will do the bids of the government, instead of the people.

Niger People Want Prof. Muhammad Kailani to Replace Ganduje as APC National Chair 

People of Niger State have come out en masse to make a passionate appeal to  Prof. Kailani Muhammad to vie for the Director General of Amalgamated All Progressives Congress Support Groups for National Chairmanship position of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The call is coming on the heels of news filtering from the APC, as to whether Dr. Umar Ganduje, the current APC National Chairman will remain in office  or bow out due to pressure.

The group in a statement titled:  “PROF KAILANI MUALHAMMAD FOR APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN”  the Niger people harp their argument on the fact that the position is zoned to the North Central zone, to compensate for the shortlived tenure of former party Chairman, Alhaji ABDULLAHI Adamu. 

The statement further reads:”Niger State, which the amiable, humble, juggernaut politician and grassroots mobiliser, Professor Kailani comes from, they emphasised, is the most qualified for the exalted position. It is a matter of putting a square peg in a square hole.

According to the group, Kailani is the most trusted politician from the zone, that undoubtedly can deliver on that mandate, hence, the unwavering support for the noble cause.

“It could be said without fear of contradiction that, the choice of Kailani for the post of National Chairmanship of the APC, is the best thing that can happen to the ruling APC as a formidable political force in Nigeria and indeed the African continent, an APC stalwart, (who preferred not to be named), from the zone said categorically.

“This submission is hinged on the tripod of Prof.Kailani’s track record as a political juggernaut; a tested human resource manager and conflict resolution expert.

“Kailani has traversed through all the complex political landscape of Nigeria: from grassroots to leadership levels.
